The true hallmark of
a Kshatriya is that he keeps up his words. We worship
Lord Rama and we should follow the dharma the lord
stands for. My father took inspiration from the
Kshatriya dharma. He was facing several hardships
in setting up the first cement factory - there was
a time when he was on the verge of frustration.
However, he never relented or gave up.
Someone from our own community approached my father
and suggested him to sell the license to another
business man. I was standing very much there when
this happened. My father was upset that a fellow
community member wanted him to give up in favour
of some outsider. In reply, he roared: "I am
a kshatriya and I will not give. I will see to it
that I setup the factory and run". My father
did not say he was a Raja ("Raasaandu"
in Rajapalyam Telugu). He said he was a kshatriya."
It is important for Kshatriya community to produce
political leaders of national stature. "Though
in terms of numbers, we are less, we can safeguard
our interest if we act intelligently," he said.
Talking about business aspirations, PRR said: "It
is not at all impossible to grow big in business.
Companies like Adyar Ananda Bhavan should aspire
to become global. Haven't we become a big corporate?
Did we ever thought that we would grow this big
in business. Today, I can claim that Ramco is known
across India. So, why not Adyar Ananda Bhavan can
be known across the world? It is certainly possible |
